Better Futures For Our Children

In 2017, Senator Ford fought for and secured an average 9% pay raise for Charlotte Mecklenburg School teachers. He has been a strong advocate for our public university system, community colleges and historical black colleges and universities by supporting funding in the General Assembly including:

  • UNC Charlotte – $90 million
  • Central Piedmont Community College – $9.6 million
  • NC A&T – $90 million
  • NC Central – $30 million
  • Winston Salem State University – $50 million

The results increase academic achievement and graduation rates by utilizing nationally recognized professional development and job-embedded coaching. Leadership, instruction and culture is transformed into sustainable results at each school.

We don’t often hear about the good things that are happening in the General Assembly up in Raleigh, especially during campaign season when all of the mudslinging begins. Senator Ford has delivered for his constituents. For six years, he has taken on the challenge of being a community leader because he is truly a civil servant to District 38.
